This position is responsible for professional editorial support that complies with departmental editorial standards; effective use of procedures and templates; and the proper interpretation of solicitation requirements governing document organization and production. The Specialist will support a wide range of business development efforts supporting Practice Leaders in securing the company s project backlog through the tracking of opportunities and development of proposals, presentations, and marketing materials from the pre-proposal through proposal and post proposal client marketing stages.


  • Monitor and track program/project opportunities via various venues including FedBizOpps and GovWin, client websites, news publications, and others.

  • Coordinate Proposals based on RFP, RFQ, RFI, or other solicitation documentation for a variety of clients including federal and local government agencies, quasi government entities, and private/commercial parties. These range in size from single page letters to multi-volume bound submissions.

  • Develop original content and edit prepared content for proposals, including executive summaries, proposal sections, project descriptions, and resumes.

  • Edit proposals for grammar, typos, content flow, clarity, voice, consistency, and accuracy.

  • Edit proposals and related appendices (e.G., resumes) to meet client requirements, make the content compelling and clear, and to match the corporate style

  • Develop original graphics including organization charts, flow charts, tables, and other graphics to support proposal content.

  • Manage process to create and maintain well-organized, up-to-date qualifications statements, project descriptions and resumes that reflect firm strengths and client benefits. Includes writing, researching, and editing material.

  • Write, organize, and maintain project fact sheets, staff resumes, and other experience related data for ongoing use in marketing/business development efforts.

  • Create graphics for print and electronic marketing collateral materials including qualification packages, brochures, and unique communication pieces (press-releases, articles and newsletters as well as other graphics).

  • Prepare presentations and interview materials for client interviews, speaking opportunities, and other engagements.

  • Assist in event planning for conferences, professional association events as well as company events.

  • Assist with updating and maintaining the website and other social media sites through regular content reviews and updates.

  • Develop and maintain resumes and certifications for employees, Organize and maintain current contract info & client references, and Maintain contacts database(s).

  • Coordinate and produce reports and other client deliverables, based on requirements including formatting and editing.


  • At least two years technical editing experience working in a professional services environment (A/E industry preferred)

  • Solid desktop publishing and word processing skills

  • Intermediate to expert level MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Excel (formatting only, not formula driven)

  • Intermediate level applying graphic illustration and page layout skills (Adobe Creative Suite: Acrobat, Illustrator, In Design, and Photoshop)

  • Deltek Vision Marketing module experience preferred
