As the Payroll Practitioner you will perform tasks associated with establishing and maintaining employee, payroll and time and attendance records. You will check and audit time sheets for compliance with established standards, maintain time and attendance records, enter new hires into the payroll system, post changes in pay and tax status and any miscellaneous changes. The Payroll Practitioner performs a wide variety of record keeping and payroll processing activities, including but not limited to, computing wage and overtime payments, calculating and recording payroll deductions, processing terminations and importing/exporting files. You will calculate and prepare general ledger entries, inspects automated system output such as registers and standard reports, determine and correct out-of-balance conditions, process involuntary deductions such as garnishments and levies. Many tasks are routine and require little deviation from established procedure, however others do require forward thinking, in depth thought and problem-solving skills.


  • Performs tasks associated with establishing and maintaining employee, payroll and time and attendance records.

  • Performs a wide variety of record keeping and payroll processing activities.

  • Performs a variety of general clerical activities such as filing.

  • Respond to inquiries from employees and managers regarding time sheet entries, corrections and paid time off.

  • Respond to various policy-related questions.

  • Participate in audits, responding to inquiries and providing supporting documentation.

  • Perform payroll audits when not primarily responsible for payroll entries.

  • Prepare and complete general ledger reconciliations.

  • Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.


  • High school diploma plus specialized training equal to two years in college.

  • 5 years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with all levels of internal and external customers.

  • Possess solid time management skills.

  • Excellent customer service skills; able to maintain a positive, professional demeanor.

  • Ability to research issues and solve problems independently.

  • Intermediate knowledge of HRIS and Payroll systems.

  • Prior work experience with ADP's Workforce Now modules (Pay Expert, Time & Labor Manager, Human Resources and Benefits) and familiarity with executive compensation reporting and taxation is preferred.

  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.

  • Ability to maintain the highest level of employee confidence.

  • Ability to work and contribute in a high performing team environment

  • Available to work overtime when necessary.

  • Must be bondable.
