Drive purchasing/procurement process in an effort to improve overall organizational efficiency. Establish effective team leadership and management processes. Optimize and maintain strong supplier relationships. Work with the plants, pricing and regional management to identify and execute cost savings opportunities, including supplier selections, negotiating into stock costs, customer specific costs and supplier programs.


  • Responsible for all raw materials and commodity purchasing

  • Responsible for the material planning and inventory control with support from current team purchasing and material planers.

  • Responsible to develop cost savings within plant supply chain and purchasing activities.

  • Monitoring the development of implementation of action plans to achieve cost, schedule and quality targets.

  • Search, qualification and development of new suppliers.

  • Supporting the development of new suppliers within North America/Canada and South America.

  • Monitoring the evaluation of supplier s flexibility and reliability, for localization.

  • Stay informed on market conditions affecting costs and product availability.

  • Evaluate price trends, new products launches, and product availability for cost improvement.

  • Determination of material costs and risk (Risk assessment) as part of the quotation on the basis of engineering and sales targets.

  • Cost control for materials in new projects.

  • Monitoring the supply chain and procurement activities for production purposes. Including the supply of materials and components from the Parent company, shipment tracking and broker relations.

  • Identification of potentials for material cost reduction based on sourcing strategies and the existing supplier base (value analysis, identification and implementation of alternatives.).

  • Track, forecast and report material cost changes

  • Travel out of the country for negotiations / training and plant requirements. Potential travel but not limited to 25% > 30% per annum.

  • Experience negotiating commodity purchases of materials such as steel or polyethylene is required.

  • Claim Management for larger and raw material claims.


  • Bachelor degree in Supply Base Management, Supply Chain or related field highly preferred.

  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in Purchasing and Sourcing

  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years' experience in a managerial role

  • SAP Experience required (SAP MM Module)

  • Experience performing in a manufacturing environment required.

  • Experience in leading key negotiations

  • Experience in strategic plan development and reporting.
