The responsibility of the Refrigeration Technician is to repair, install and troubleshoot refrigeration systems while working on climate-control systems; i.E., HVAC units, ice machines, beverage equipment and refrigerated storage units.
Repair, install and troubleshoot refrigeration systems.
Perform preventative maintenance on refrigeration systems.
Complete various tasks pertaining to the overall operation of the refrigeration systems.
Install climate-control systems; read blueprints and schematics, understand compliance standards and know local building codes.
Apply welding and soldering techniques, as required.
Diagnose problems and make repairs to existing equipment, apply troubleshooting methods, replace parts and run tests to ensure the system is working properly.
Upgrade systems to satisfy new regulations or meet new standards.
Other duties may be assigned, as needed or required.

Good math, communication and basic computer skills
Good physical condition in order to regularly lift and carry equipment, kneel or stoop for long periods of time
Understand the operations of commercial refrigeration systems
Ability to diagnose malfunctions and defects in equipment
Ability to read blueprints and electrical and electronic schematics
Understand electrical and plumbing concepts
Knowledge of operating tools, gauges and other testing equipment for refrigeration systems
