The Senior Financial Advisor is responsible for managing and retaining long-term quality client relationships by formulating and overseeing implementation of objective advice and service for the company s high net worth clients. This position is also responsible for converting prospects into clients.


  • Develops and coordinates financial and estate planning strategies for assigned clients.

  • Develops and coordinates implementation of optimal investment strategy selection.

  • Sets clients expectations appropriately.

  • Uncovers and addresses clients insurance needs.

  • Coordinates financial planning and wealth management solutions in partnership with clients other professional relationships, including attorneys and CPAs.

  • Uncovers clients financial planning goals and objectives, including tax, estate and insurance planning utilizing the firm s financial planning process and philosophy.

  • Conducts regular client reviews. Maintains ongoing communication with clients between meetings as needed.

  • Manages the client s investment portfolio, identifying client s risk and return objectives. Able to clearly articulate the firm s investment philosophy, identify special situations and requirements, provide recommendations based on client s unique circumstance; and provide performance reviews on a semi-annual basis, including financial plan updates, portfolio strategy changes, performance reviews and identification of new opportunities.

  • Retains and strengthens existing client relationships, striving to manage the entirety of the client s assets and obtain new client referrals.

  • Seek out referrals from existing clients and centers of influence. Leverages centers of influence to expand referral network.

  • Delegates administrative tasks to Client Relations staff as needed and follows-up for satisfactory completion. Documents all task requests and notes in CRM.

  • Serves as back-up to other financial advisors or financial planner as appropriate.

  • Identifies, tracks, cultivates and closes new business opportunities for the firm.

  • Attends client, prospect and other networking events as requested.

  • Works with Marketing Communications Manager to create written or video content to support the firm s market and public relations activities as requested.

  • Maintains professional competencies, certifications and licensing.

  • Adheres to the firm s ethical standards.

  • Tracks activity and time in accordance with company s time tracking process.

  • Presents a positive, professional demeanor at all times. Actively contributing to a positive culture and work environment.


  • CFP designation is required.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a financial advisor servicing high net worth clients.

  • Series 7 required or the ability to pass exam.

  • Series 63/65/66 or the ability to pass exams.

  • NJ Life License, or the ability to pass exam.

  • Strong and relevant academic credentials: undergraduate bachelor s in finance, economics or related academic discipline. Advanced degrees (MBA, MS, PhD, JD) a plus, but not required.

  • CFP designation required.

  • Deep understanding of the financial markets, investment management.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and manage plans and manage client relationships.

  • Solid strategic thinker, creative problem solver and competent decision maker.

  • Demonstrated ability to drive bottom line results and productivity.

  • Possesses a passion to help new and existing clients.

  • Enjoys business outreach efforts.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with various financial planning, CRM, account reporting and document management software.

  • A general working knowledge of financial planning software (eMoney preferred).

  • Must be organized, detail-oriented and able to multitask.
