The Systems Engineer will be responsible for driving projects through the product development process using a solid engineering skillset, energetic collaborative spirit, results driven work ethic, and solution facilitation skills to solving tough technical and logistical challenges. Leads and supports various Systems Engineering activities from concept exploration, system definition & design, trade-off studies, analysis, modeling, testing, issue investigation & resolution, and documentation. Assists in leading the development teams to meet project schedule through coordinating the technical multi-disciplinary groups by planning, communications, monitoring, and delivering on tasks.


  • Develop, execute, and lead complex simultaneous multi-product system development defining detailed system architecture and detailed designs. System typically is computer-based with multiple signal inputs, video/image capture, displays and mobility devices.

  • Apply technical engineering to design systems, products, and their features.

  • Apply technical design analysis methods such as functional analysis, timing analysis, and trade-off studies.

  • Develop product concepts, capture user needs, and create and analyze use cases.

  • Manage requirements development, analysis, allocation, review, and tracing creating necessary documentation.

  • Develop/improve existing camera-based devices.

  • Define, plan, and conduct formal technical design and test reviews.

  • Lead, plan, schedule, conduct, and monitor testing activities.

  • Guide, develop, and review verification strategies, test designs, test tools, planned execution and completeness of documentation.

  • Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, evaluates alternatives including cost and risk, supportability and analyses for total systems.

  • Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal.

  • Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.

  • Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.


  • Bachelor s degree in Engineering or Scientific discipline and at least 6 years of technical engineering professional experience

  • Master s degree in Engineering or Scientific discipline and at least 4 years of technical engineering professional experience

  • Experience with Requirements Management Software such as DOORS and PTC Integrity

  • Experience with development in a regulated industry such as medical device, defense, or automotive.

  • Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills

  • Demonstrated experience creating system architecture for complex electro-mechanical systems, with experience in systems design.

  • At least 3 years engineering design experience developing electrical or mechanical systems that have been commercialized.

  • Demonstrated experience generating technical documentation such as product requirements, specifications, engineering reports, test plans & procedures, validation plans, or validation reports.

  • Excellent written and communication skills

  • Experience in design techniques such as use cases, functional analysis, timing analysis, and sequence diagrams

  • Experience in requirements development, analysis, allocation, review, and tracing

  • Demonstrated ability of working on multiple projects in a deadline driven environment
