Provide technical support to sales team and quality staff. Check chemical compatibilities. Generate product specification sheets. Running the Technical Service involves answering customer questions on the use of products i.E. UN/DOT, compatibility / valve configurations, etc. Must have the ability to work with internal and external customers.


  • Respond to customer technical questions regarding IBCs and drums
    Technical questions may regard how to fill, empty, clean, store, and transport our containers.
    They also include checking customers chemical compatibilities with our containers and making recommendations.

  • Staying up to date on government (DOT, NFPA) regulations

  • Assist the quality department in tests and analyses of faulty products

  • Perform tests to evaluate the different aspects of IBCs and drums

  • Some tests include measuring relaxation time of screw cap plugs from a range of one week to one month; evaluating antistatic efficiency of competitor s totes; and determining optimal dip-tube for IBC drainage

  • Create production reports to monitor performance and efficiency of different plants, cycle times, days run, etc.

  • Familiarity with company products is necessary to assist customer service and sales reps who engage with customers. This helps to ensure continuation of future business relations with them

  • Submit sample requests to customer service, and occasionally shipping samples to customers directly

  • Involved in customer, government, and other external audits

  • Qualification of new suppliers and collecting proper documentation

  • Some travel in the New Jersey area required, including customer site visits, company plant site visits, and conferences; conferences include attending meetings to remain up to date on new regulations

  • Support other departments as needed


  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

  • Working knowledge of SAP

  • Lotus Notes a plus

  • Associates Degree required / Bachelor Degree preferred

  • 2-4 years in the chemical or packaging industry preferred

  • ISO 9000 experience very helpful

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
